There were some lovely dresses (I liked Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Sandra Bullock and Jane Fonda), but nothing really stood out and grabbed my attention.

I was very disappointed in the dresses/gowns they wore. I thought Reese colour was perfect for her. I liked Selma Hayek's dress (though wasn't nuts about the neckline) and well Jane Fonda looked fantastic. The others either the style or colour didn't suit them at all. The song Adele sang was terrible and at times I thought the orchestra drowned her out and her dress was too old for her - just so bad.

The song Adele sang was terrible and at times I thought the orchestra drowned her out.

I stayed up the night to watch the show, and personally I didn't find Adele performance bad. She was very good, in my opinion and sang Skyfall very well (beside being out of tune for one little second, taking the wrong note), and I personally found the overall ceremony quite entertaining which last year wasn't that much.

About the red carpet, I gasped over some looks in particular: Amanda Seyfried (personal favourite), Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, Zoe Saldana, Charlize Theron, Halle Berry, Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Aniston (finally not in black).
Such a shame for Anne Hathaway, who could have sported a much better dress, knowing that she was the one who would have won; her dress during the performance on the stage with Les Miz cast was so much better! (Amanda's was as amazing as the other one).

I was a bit disappointed by the movies, though, and I personally found odd that Michelle Obama declared the best movie, and a little bit disappointed for the winner. Not that Argo was a bad movie, because it wasn't, and this year it was a really tough choice having high quality movies in all category, and the main disappoint for me personally was seeing a great film like "Zero Dark Thiry" being rejected and not considered except for some lesser awards. But I guess Kathyrn Bigelow's choice to make it a 'neutral' movie, not praising america's achievements was an element against the possible winning. But I have to say that what I am admiring more an more is Ben Affleck's attitude in being vey modest while excepting prices... this is truly a remarkable aspect of his being in this business!

I really liked it; it was so honest, and sincere, that showed how this man is grown up becoming a very humble man, who understands perfectly the honour to be up on that stage, near all those amazing movies, and this is the one thing I am appreciating about him very much!
